Pro Dive Open Water Classes
During the course you will explore the best diving sights that South East Queensland has to offer. In summer you’ll see graceful manta rays, turtles and the masses of tropical fish while enjoying 26°C plus water temperatures. From May to October you will have the opportunity to witness the spectacle of the migrating humpback whales. This is a must!You will learn to dive at our training dive site, the beautiful Cook Island Marine Park.
Cook Island is famous for Turtle Cove, where you can find massive green sea and loggerhead turtles. On nearly every dive you will see anemonefish, wobbegong sharks, lionfish and a variety of rays. In summer you will find the graceful leopard sharks and in winter the grey nurse sharks. Cook Island is also known for a numerous amount of soft corals, which make for a beautiful underwater garden.

Full Time and Part Time Courses Available
Full Time Program (four days during the week)
Tuesday through to Friday. See below for course format.
Part Time Program (two consecutive weekends)
Thursday (prior to your course starting) | 6pm - 7pm | BBQ and meet your instructor
Saturday | 9am - 5pm | Classroom Instruction. 
Sunday | 8am - 4pm | Confined Water Training.
This is where you will breathe for the first time underwater and gradually learn the skills used in scuba diving starting in a shallow pool before the thrill of actually diving in the ocean with turtles, tropical fish, mantas and humpback whales in season.
Saturday and Sunday (second weekend) | Times dependant on tides and boats | Open Water Dives.
Your second weekend will be spent visiting reefs around Cook Island. You will do five dives in the ocean, four on scuba and one snorkel dive. Transport to and from dives sites is included so all you need to do is arrive at the Pro Dive store each day and we’ll do the rest. Train stations and bus stops are just across the road.
Thursday (after the completion of your course) | 7pm - 8pm | Graduation BBQ
A great two weeks finishes with you as a fully licensed scuba diver and we invite you to celebrate with graduation drinks and a BBQ with your newly made diving buddies and friends. The only question left to ask is "When’s the next Advanced program?"

If our schedule doesn't suit your's or you want a more comprehensive course in a "one-on-one" training environment then a private course is suited to you. For further enquires please phone us in the store on 3368 3766 or email info@prodivebrisbane.com.au. Private lessons start at $1350 for a one-on-one course.
Important Information
Included:
- SSI Educational Pack including Open Water manual, DVD, First Aid quick guide, log book and codura log book binder.
- All scuba equipment (excluding snorkelling gear). Our hire gear is current and well maintained. We provided you with and teach you how to dive with computers.
- Transportation in our modern fleet of air conditioned buses from our store to your training sites.
- Confined Water training in our heated pool.
- 5 ocean boat dives out at the beautiful Cook Island Marine park, with morning tea and refreshments in between dives.
- International Open Water Certification which will allow you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum of 18 metres with a buddy.
Not Included: Your own personal snorkelling gear. WH&S recommends that each person uses their own personal items to reduce the possibility of disease transmission. Snorkelling packages are avaiable to buy at Open Water Student discount rates.
Requirements:
* A current AS4005.1 dive medical (a list of dive doctors is available here).
* You must be able to swim.
* Independent study must be completed prior to course starting.
* WH&S reqires ever diver to carry their own visual and audible signaling device. Pro Dive Brisbane recommends a safety sausage and dive whistle which are available for purchase ($29.97).
Recommended: Dive gloves and a dive knife. Gloves protect you from cuts and scrapes and a dive knife will allow you to cut underwater entanglements such as fishing line.
Cancellation (or transfer of dates): More than 7 days notice $50. Inside 7 days $100 since the opportunity to re-sell your place is lost. No refunds once course is underway.
Non-completion of dive medical or independent study by day 1 will mean cancellation of your booking and transfer to later date. This will incur late transfer charges of $100.
