Master Diver Course
The Highest Level Of Recreational Diver
The Master Diver rating is one of the most elite ratings in diving today. Divers that have completed this level have combined the knowledge, skills and experience to truly call themselves Master Divers.
To earn the certification for Master Diver, you must complete 4 specialty courses, Diver Stress & Rescue and have done a total of 50 dives.
Master Diver Program
The Master Diver Program can be broken up into two specific components. The Stress & Rescue course, and an additional four specialties. While there is a range of specialties you can take that count towards the Master Diver rating, Snorkel Safari Brisbane has put together a package of what we have found to be the most popular specialty courses.
This includes:
- Stress & Rescue Course.
- Deep Course.
- Nitrox Course.
- Navigation Course.
- Night & Limited Visibility Course.
Of course, if there are other specialty programs you would like to include in the program, we can be flexible.
Course Format (Part 1 - Stress & Rescue)
Three Days (Sunday, Saturday and Sunday)
Sunday | 9am - 5pm | Classroom Instruction.
Saturday (second weekend) | 8am - 4pm | Confined Water Training.
In the pool session we will show you how to recognise stress and you will learn techniques used to manage rescue situations. We will also go through a range of scenarios to reinforce those skills and bring it all together in a real-life situation.
Sunday (second weekend) | Times dependant on tides | Ocean Training.
The ocean training is designed to solidify the skills you learned in the pool. This is where you will put into practice all of your stress and rescue skills.
Thursday (after the completion of your course) | 7pm - 8pm | Graduation BBQ
A great two weeks finishes with you as a fully licensed rescue diver and we invite you to celebrate with graduation drinks and a BBQ with your newly made diving buddies and friends.
Course Format (Part 2 - Specialties)
Four Days and One Evening (Two Consecutive Weekends, Last Weekend out on a Liveaboard)
Saturday | 9am - 4pm | Deep Theory and Pool Session.
The first half of the day will be spent in the classroom and the second half will be in the pool. The pool is where you will learn deep diving skills such as submerged surface marker deployment, perfect buoyancy control for those crucial safety stops, and pony bottle use as a redundant air source.
Sunday | 9am - 4pm | Enriched Air Nitrox Theory.
We will discuss the benefits and risks involved with diving nitrox safely. You will also learn the correct procedures for nitrox use and you will practice using different nitrox analysers.
Wednesday | 6pm - 9pm | Navigation & Computer Theory.
Friday | 7pm | Meet at Newport Marina.
We meet on Friday night and set up our gear for the weekend on the boat. You will need to collect any hire gear prior to arriving at the boat and bring all equipment needed to complete your dives.
Saturday | 6am - 5pm | Day 1.
We will do up to 5 dives on the first day including a night dive, with much needed meals provided by our friendly staff between dives. Course dives will be dependant on site selection and conditions. During surface intervals between dives (when you aren't eating) you are free to use your time watching dvds, sleeping, socialising, reading a book, relaxing in the sun, or whatever takes your fancy at the time.
Sunday | 6am - 4pm | Day 2.
We will do up to 3 dives on the second day and are usually back at the Marina by 4pm. Once again food will be provided between dives.
Thursday (after the completion of your course) | 7pm - 8pm | Graduation BBQ
A great weekend finishes with you as a fully licensed Master Diver and we invite you to celebrate with graduation drinks and a BBQ with your newly made diving buddies and friends.
